Schramsberg

The unusually late harvest of 2006 produced bright, fruitful Pinot Noir. Aromas are generous and bursting with strawberries and ripe watermelon accentuated by subtle nuances of freshly baked rhubarb pie. The palate is knit seamlessly together. A crisp entry leads way to bountiful flavors of juicy strawberry, fresh peach and blood orange. The 2006 Brut Rose finishes with a long tangy and balanced acidity.

Wine Enthusiast

A beautiful blush wine, both to look at and to drink. The color is “the partridge’s eye,” and in the mouth, the wine is fully dry, crisp and subtle in raspberries, tangerines, vanilla, brioche and spices. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Score: 91. —Steve Heimoff, December 30, 2009.

Wine Spectator

Boldly flavored, but with a crisp, delicate body and a soft pink color. Notes of strawberry, graham cracker and spice linger on the fresh finish. Drink now through 2014.

Score: 90. —Tim Fish, November 15, 2009.
