This is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon; a highly colored, intensely fragrant and firmly structured wine with the ripeness and breadth of the new world and the restraint of old world sensibility. Cassis, damson plum, dried herbs and cedar characterize both the aromas and the palate, with discreet vanilla notes from the oak. The tannins are ripe yet focused, lending the wine a refined structure and linearity. The finish is long and elegant, with black fruit notes giving way to a final suggestion of cedar box.

Wine Spectator

A solid Cabernet, with good muscle, but not overwhelming weight to the currant, plum, roasted vanilla and cedar notes that all linger on the rounded finish. Drink now through 2010. 112 cases made.

Score: 89. —James Molesworth, November 15, 2008.
