Domaine Henry Pelle

A blend of 7 parcels from the highest slopes of the appellation. This location (cool yet sunny climate) and this soil (Kimmeridgian marl) give this wine a subtle, pure nose with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits. The taste is racy and cristalline, clear with a citrus fruit taste initially followed by a saline and mineral finish. Nothing overly exuberant: just clarity and precision.

Wine Advocate

The pure tank portion of Pelle's 2011 Menetou-Salon Morogues Les Blanchais displayed the greatest clarity, refreshment, and Kimmeridgian-typical character of any of their Sauvignons I tasted from that vintage, and when an approximation was rendered of the eventual blend with material from demi-muids (which, incidentally, reside splendidly in an ancient, vaulted satellite cellar) the result gained complexity and richness without losing its winsome hint of florality; primary pineapple, lime and grapefruit juiciness; or the chalky, fusil, and saline notes that seem to point toward its specific geological origin. I suspect that this long-finisher will also be the most rewarding to follow of Pelle's 2011 whites, perhaps for a half dozen years.
